I am definitely a firm believer in the above statement. Sometimes we get so caught up in our past and in trying to predict our futures, that we forget to embrace the here and now. These days I try to live my life by living in the  moment. We cannot predict what will happen down the track, and our future will depend on what we choose to think and do in each moment. The power is definitely in the choices we make! We need to make each moment count and take some time to stop and enjoy all the good moments that every day brings. Not every day will be filled with positivity, but we need to try to find at least one positive thing about each and every day. We need to tell ourselves that we are worth fighting for. Every choice you make to eat healthy, be more active, give yourself praise, and be kind to others is a choice that will be leading you to a happy future. Finding at least one positive in every day can be the difference between having a 'good day' or a 'bad day'. If you choose to be kind to yourself and make healthy choices you will nourish your body and your mind. Live in the moment - You cannot change your past and you cannot predict your future, but you can choose how your today will be. Dont carry the weight of yesterday or tomorrow on your shoulders, enjoy every day for what it is. If we are too busy dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, we will miss out on the beauty in each moment of today.

Today's challenge: Do at least one thing every day that makes you smile, or makes you happy.

Peace,

Jay

Be You!

I decided to create this Blog out of my passion for wanting to live the most healthy and happy life that I can. It has taken me a lot of soul-searching and life experiences to get to this point, but I feel like I am finally on the right path. I am learning to love and respect myself for who I am, and enjoy filling my life with all the things that make me truly happy.

When was the last time you took a time out and praised yourself for the wonderful job you are doing? Most of us never do this yet we are more than happy to dish out the compliments and encouragements to those around us. We often lose ourselves in life's daily stresses, and in our roles as wives, husbands, parents, grandparents, employees, friends, and so on, that we forget to take time out to appreciate ourselves and the uniqueness that embodies who we are. You need to remember that YOU are just as important as the other significant people in your life and deserve the same..no, more, attention and respect and love that you so freely offer to everyone else. Thank yourself for the wonderful meal you cooked, for taking such good care of your children and loved ones, and for all the other good things you did that day.

My mission for you, is to grab a piece of paper and write down 5 things about yourself that you are proud of  - 10 things if you dare! This could include aspects of your personality, an special achievement, a good deed, anything! Then, read that list back to yourself, and come and leave a comment on this blog and and let me know how reading that list made you feel. I am hoping that reading those 5 (or 10) things back to yourself will give you a satisfying feeling of pride and achievement. Add to that list any time you do something that makes you feel proud of yourself. Read it any time you feel low and need some encouragement and motivation. That list will remind you that YOU are in charge of your life, and you CAN do anything!

My second mission for you is to take at least 5 minutes to yourself every day, and tell yourself these 8 things:

  • I respect myself
  • I love myself for who I am
  • I believe in myself and in my abilities
  • I am doing a great job
  • I will nourish my body as well as my mind
  •  I am beautiful
  • There is nobody else in the world like me
  • Who I am is enough

Life can be stressful, so make sure you take time to remember who you are and pay attention to all the things that make you special. Praise yourself for the wonderful job you are doing. So much clarity and happiness can come from learning to love yourself for who you are. So what's stopping you? :)

Peace,

Jay
